AGM Update and 2021 Committee

The Roos held their 2020 Annual General Meeting in late November, where it elected its committee for Season 2021.

There were a number of resignations from the committee this year and we thank the following people for their dedication and service:

  • Vicky Perdikaris – Club Secretary
  • Scott Horwood – Registrar
  • Karenza Horwood – Assistant Secretary

The Roos committee can now confirm the 2021 appointments are:

  • Tony Bellia – President
  • Jodi Zimmer – Vice President
  • David Zimmer – Club Secretary
  • Steve Dadich – Treasurer
  • Christian Hage – Committee Member
  • Rosanna Hage – Committee Member (New)
  • Chris Maher – Committee Member/Life Member
  • Veronica Whitmee – Committee Member (New)
  • Sunil Gopinath – Committee Member (New)
  • Brett Matthews – Committee Member (New)
  • Lee Giddins – Registrar (Non Committee Role)

The newly formed committee are looking forward to next season and have eagerly started planning for 2021 with some great initiatives ready to be implemented.  WATCH THIS SPACE!

2021 Volunteer Bond

For the upcoming season the Club will be implementing a volunteer bond of $50 per family.  Each family can receive their bond back at the end of the season if they undertake some volunteer shifts, on game days throughout the 2021 season, which include:

  • BBQ duties
  • Canteen
  • Set up of ground
  • Pack away and clean up

The number of shifts to be confirmed once we have a home game schedule, however we envisage 2 or 3.

The club will implement a full booking system to reconcile these shifts.

For those who choose not to volunteer throughout the year, the bond will be held to help support running costs of canteen and other facilities on game day.  This will allow the Roos to share the load and ensure that the club is not reliant on the same people each week and allow us to offer a superior game day experience.

We will also look to change the options of volunteering for 2021.  The club recognises that adding another hour post game to volunteer is difficult on top of everyone’s busy schedules so to make it easier, next season volunteer shifts will be available for the 1 hour before games so you can get out and get on with your day once your child’s game is finished.

The bond will be included in the 2021 Registration cost for your first child only, so make sure you register all players at once to avoid being charged the bond twice.  If you can’t register all players at one time, please reach out to any of the committee members to discuss.

Coaches, managers, trainers and committee members will not be required to pay the bond and we will send a link shortly to use for the registration process.

2021 Registration Fee Increase

To cover the ever increasing costs of running the club, the committee has agreed to increase the registration fee to $200 per player.  The club will be offering a $30 Early Bird discount if you register before 31st Jan 2021.

Remember that with the $100 Active Kids voucher from the NSW Government this means the registration fee could be as low as $70 which is an amazing value for a season of sport.

ALL NEW players will continue to receive on top of their full kit, a training shirt, bag, cap and hoodie.

Registrations opened today, so if you have any active kids vouchers that you have not used in 2020 get in early and make good use of it.
